What sets G7sus4 apart

The notes of G7sus4 are G, C, D and F. G is the root, C the fourth, D the fifth and F the minor seventh.

From the low string to the high one you hear G, C, D, G, C and F. Of the six strings you play, two give G, the note that names the chord. The lowest note is G on string 6 and the highest is F on string 1.

G7sus4 lets two strings ring open. String 4 gives D and string 3 gives G. Everything fits between frets 1 and 3. Besides the main one there are two more shapes, at frets 3 and 10.
