CifraLab Terms and Conditions
Last updated: October 15, 2026
Terms governing the use of our web platform and mobile music learning application.
1. Acceptance of Terms
By accessing and using the CifraLab website (cifralabapp.com) or mobile app, you agree to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Educational Purpose & Music Study
CifraLab is an educational laboratory for harmonic training and chord visualization. Diagrams, harmonic formulas, and progressions represent public domain concepts or educational analysis under Fair Use.
3. Quotation Rights & Artist References (Fair Use)
Pursuant to the Berne Convention (Articles 10.1 & 10.2), 17 U.S. Code § 107 (Fair Use), EU Directive 2019/790 (Article 5), and international copyright laws, all references to song titles, artists, and bands in CifraLab serve exclusively educational, instructional, and musicological analysis purposes. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.
CifraLab does not host or distribute copyrighted audio recordings or full lyrics. All sound samples are didactic acoustic studio recordings played locally via the Web Audio API.
4. Intellectual Property
The visual design, interactive interface, source code, acoustic implementation in Web Audio API, logos, and CifraLab trademarks are the exclusive property of CifraLab. This also includes the original works on the site.
That includes the characters, such as Mr. Guitar, Mrs. Guitar, and Mr. Piano, their drawings, the story that tells where they come from, and the melodies composed for CifraLab. You can view them, listen to them, and use them for study.
You cannot copy them, sell them, or use them in other projects without written permission. Unauthorized reproduction, reverse engineering, and automated mass data scraping for commercial purposes are prohibited.
5. Downloads and Use of Materials
The sheets and worksheets in the downloads section can be printed for personal study and for lessons. Reselling or redistributing CifraLab's sounds, software, or drawings outside of the site is not permitted.
6. CifraLab's Melodies, Arrangements and Songs
CifraLab's original melodies and songs, including those from the character stories and those published on the CifraLab channel, are works protected by copyright. All rights are reserved. You may play and study them to learn.
To use them in another work, record them, publish them, or use them for commercial purposes, you need our written permission at [email protected].
This includes the melodies composed for the emotion pages, the arrangements CifraLab makes of public domain works or works by other authors, and the scores and tablatures written for the site.
When a work belongs to another author, the work remains theirs and what is protected is CifraLab's arrangement and explanation.
7. Musical Practice and Health
The advice on posture, fingering, and technique are study guidelines and do not replace a teacher or a healthcare professional. If you feel pain in your hands, wrists, or back while playing, stop and consult a specialist. Also, be mindful of the volume when practicing with headphones.
8. Tuner, Sound, and Content
The tuner, metronome, and sounds are practice tools. Their accuracy depends on your microphone, speakers, and device, and we do not guarantee they will be exact in all cases. We review the musical content carefully, but it may contain errors. If you find one, please let us know through the contact page, and we will correct it.
9. Disclaimer of Liability
CifraLab is provided 'as-is'. We do not guarantee uninterrupted availability of the service, nor are we responsible for technical failures resulting from the user's hardware or browser.
10. Modifications to the Terms
We reserve the right to update these terms to reflect legal changes or new features. Modifications will take effect upon their publication on this page.
